Barra Students Learn about Giving

Thanksgiving and Christmas are excellent opportunities to teach our children how to be thankful, share and give. With this in mind, Leonora (Silvana and Bruno's mom) presented Barra's projects for the end of the year during an all school assembly at Barra Campus.
Middle School

Via Sapentia Trips

The Via Sapientia trips were a big success! The sixth grade students visited Porto Seguro to learn more about the discovery of Brazil, its effect on the Europeans who arrived and the native people they met.

Thanksgiving Tickets and Feathers are now available for sale. All EARJ Parents are invited to come join us for a delicious feast on Tuesday, November 24, at the Barra school and on Wednesday, November 25, at the Gávea school.

Crossing the North Pole by Mr. Lars

Thanks Mr. Lars, Andrea’s grandfather, for presentations he made on Norway. Students oohed and ahhed when they saw the movie of the dog-sledder who cut a hole in the thick ice and took a dip.

Students Fundraise to Renovate a Children’s Library in Rocinha

The Service Oriented Students Club (SOS) was started approximately four years ago and has not stopped growing since, both in terms of the number of members and the size of the projects.

Norwegian Food Cooking Class

The month of activities about Norway is coming to an end. The cooking class was a huge success. Marit baked typical meat and vegetarian cakes, which the participants enjoyed.

SOS Club Fundraising Piano Concert

Our SOS Club organized a fundraising information session and concert to raise funds to renovate a children’s library in neighboring Rocinha. They invited Nivaldo Tavares, an international award-winning pianist.
