Welcome to EARJ - Creating a World of Opportunities

Greetings from the website of the American School of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The website describes our rich history,
admissions policies and provides information about our academic and extracurricular programs for students from preschool
through grade 12 at the Gavea campus and toddlers through 4th grade at the campus in Barra. I welcome you to join us as we
inspire our students to become global citizens and lifelong learners by challenging them to develop their potential and realize their dreams.

Saudades 2010
The third edition of EARJ’s newest tradition is planned for this coming August 2010. Whether you visit Rio de Janeiro once a year to see family and classmates, or have never been back since your time at Escola Americana, this year’s event is sure to be memorable and magical. Events include formal and informal gatherings, music, meals and plenty of time to reconnect with old classmates and discover new Panther friends.

SOS Club Supports McFeliz Day
Helping a kid with cancer is as easy as eating a Big Mac. On August 28, all the money earned from the sale of Big Macs (burgers, only; not meals) will be donated to cancer institutions.
From Ms. Cristiana, Lower School Principal
I would like to congratulate and thank all of the students, parents, teachers, assistants and support staff who all worked hard to make this first week a phenomenal start to the 2010-2011 school year.
From Ms. Suely, Barra Campus
Welcome to the 2010/2011 School Year! We are very happy to welcome all our returning students and families. We also extend a warm welcome to our new students and families joining our Barra campus this semester.
